Event Recycling

Reduce and Recycle at Your Event

Why reduce and recycle? It conserves natural resources, minimizes pollutants, saves energy, extends the life of the landfill, and captures valuable material for reprocessing. In addition, it brings your event positive P.R. Your guests will appreciate your efforts to reduce your environmental impact.

Boise City encourages all events to minimize waste and recycle. We can help you design an effective waste-reduction strategy, and we have recycle bins available for your use at no charge. Bins are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact us at 384-3901, or send an e-mail to pwilliams@cityofboise.org.

As you’re planning your event, consider these simple guidelines:
• Provide a recycle bin for each trash container;
• Locate trash and recycling containers side-by-side;
• Recruit enough staff or volunteers to constantly monitor and empty the containers;
• Promote your sustainability efforts in your advertising, stage announcements, etc.;
• Make your vendors, staff, and volunteers aware of your diversion efforts;
• Celebrate reducing your environmental impact!
