Changes to Glass Drop-Off Site Program

Thursday, August 30, 2012

The city of Boise is opening a new glass recycling drop-off location in east Boise near the Idaho Botanical Gardens on August 31, 2012.

The new site replaces the popular drop off location at the old Armory building (801 Reserve Street). The Armory site - which was sold recently by the City to a private developer - will be closed permanently for glass collection on August 30.

The new east Boise glass recycling drop-off is located at the Idaho State Historical Society building at 2205 E. Goodman Street.  This location is conveniently located off Warm Springs Avenue and adjacent to the Idaho Botanical Gardens (IBG).  Goodman Street is the "back entrance" to the IBG.

Meanwhile, the drop off location at the old Ridley's Market, 2950 Bogus Basin Road, was permanently closed on Wednesday, August 8.  The property owner asked the City to remove the bins because of trash and other public misuse. (The Kiwanis recycling bins were also removed for the same reasons.)
