Downtown Recycling Program

Ongoing Programs

The Downtown Recycling Program is a public program with convenient centers scattered throughout the downtown business district. Each recycling center collects newspapers, aluminum cans and plastic beverage bottles in separate receptacles.

The Downtown Recycling Program only accepts the following items:

  • Aluminum and Steel (Tin) Cans
  • Plastic beverage bottles
  • Newspapers and Inserts

Other items such as coffee cups, food, plastic bags, and glass should be thrown in the trash can next to the recycling container. Because items in the downtown recycling containers are not sorted, anything other than accepted items will be considered trash and the entire load will be disposed of rather than recycled.
