Household Hazardous Waste
Accepted items include computers, printers, scanners, fax
machines, cell phones and televisions. The collection program does
NOT accept household appliances, such as microwaves or VCRs.
The collection programs consists of mobile collection sites in
Boise, Meridian, Kuna, Eagle, and the permanent collection facility at the Ada
County Hidden Hollow Sanitary Landfill. The mobile collection sites
are open to residents within the limits of the respective cities,
while any Ada County resident can use the facility at the sanitary
landfill.
Please note: Space is limited on the
mobile collection trucks and we cannot accept large quantities of
items. We can accept up to three computer monitors and two
televisions (27 inches in size or smaller) per household per
collection day.
Televisions larger than 27 inches in size and console
televisions (i.e. televisions in a wood cabinet) must be taken to
the Ada County Landfill, Monday through Saturday from 8:00am -
6:00pm. You will be directed to offload your television in an
area near the top of the landfill: this area is for televisions
ONLY; no other household hazardous waste can be left.
NOTE: Off-loading assistance is ONLY available on Fridays and
Saturdays when the Permanent Collection Facility is staffed.
Televisions that are 27 inches in size or smaller can be taken
to either the landfill or any mobile collection site (limit
of two televisions).
